According to Merrill Lynch-Capgemini, the world’s rich got richer in 2009. The number of millionaires climbed 17% in ’09 to 10 million. Their total wealth climbed 19% to $39 trillion, nearly recovering losses suffered during the recession. The U.S. had 2.87 millionaires followed by Japan at 1.65 million, Germany at 861,000 and China at 477,000.
